Secret Seekers Seek Secret Lovers?

Updated on December 7, 2015

When is it My Turn?

You may have wondered why all the good stuff that is supposed to flow from the Secret has yet to free you from a life of drudgery and made you Ruler of all you survey.

Well, there could be many answers to that.

it isn't time yet.

That's not what you are meant for.

That's not what was meant for you.

Or it could be much, much simpler.

Whom did you help today?

If you look at the spiritual leaders that people admire and follow the most, you may notice that that the spiritual role models that stand the test of time are rarely the ones that ask: What's in it for me? Rather their measuring stick is closer to: How many people did I help today? Or better yet, how helpful have I been today? After all, it may be that you were only meant to help one person today. Running around like a crazed gerbil pretending to help a lot of people while putting a kindness hit and run on the one person you were meant to help would not result in a successful day.

Encourage One Another

We love to lecture one another about the glaring faults we see in others and how easily the perfection that is our lives could cure all the world's ills. Sometimes we forget that we are supposed to be uplifting to one another.

Have you every thought about the number of people who assert that they believe in the Power of Positive Thinking? Or how about the number of people who believe in the Secret? Suppose we all sit on our little digital Islands pelting the odd passer by with esoteric dogma. Does this seem like a recipe for a successful spiritual journey to you?

How many Secret websites have you visited today? How many Power of Positive thinking websites have you gone to this week? Clearly we cannot spend all of our time encouraging strangers. Most of us have the obligations of work, family and home to fulfill. But we do need to spend some of our time each week, finding and lifting up in prayer some stranger who could use the boost. The cool thing about the Internet is that a lot of the social awkwardness of seeking out such encounters goes away. You don't need to be encouraging bad people who do bad things. And even if a mostly good person, has what you see are some mistaken beliefs, encouraging the things you agree with could be just thing to nudge that person back on to the right path.

I am not encouraging that people run around the internet and spend money on the random nick nacks of power. I am encouraging people to boost traffic to the websites that believe what you believe and use instruments like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and StumbleUpon to bookmark people who have something worthwhile to say who just have a picture or two that made you smile.

Look at it this way, on this day, a million people could go to a website to read a story about mans inhumanity to man, or about cats, or they could go to a website about spiritual awakening. The people who believe in spiritual awakening and renewal, or the Secret, or the Power of Positive Thinking have the power to steer internet traffic to websites of this nature by seeking and and praising the good we see in strangers. The internet can't actually tell bad from good or encouraging and positive experiences from those that make us double lock our doors and hearts against strangers. The internet only knows where the traffic is going. Where are you making the traffic go? You probably can't make it go to your own websites any more than it already is. But we can a body of believers make good happen by going to where good is and praising it and lifting it up.

It has been said that all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. That has resonance several levels. Have you told someone that it is a good day to be good? Have you told someone it is a good day to trust and believe? Have you let someone know that they need to give the forces of good once more chance? It you can do that by searching for, visiting and praising websites that believe what you believe, then what could be easier? Of course you will encourage the people you know--that goes without saying. But the internet does make it easy to find like minded stranger and make a cyber connection if you are of a mind to do it. All of the usual precautions about giving out personally identifiable information apply to this endeavor as to all others, but don't let prudence make you a stranger!

Be Blessed!

A blessed day. A day of blessing. Take that day and use it to bless others and lift them up. Praise them and pray for them.

The significance in numerology is what we say it is. Why not take over a date that signifies something you want or like and make it good because we say it is.
