Why am I so Blessed? 10 Reasons

Updated on July 3, 2009

Imagine this hair blonde, and you will see my blessing

Reason #10

I have great hair.  This is nothing I have caused.  It just is, I am blessed!  I have hair that grows and grows and grows.  In fact, I have problems keeping it short.  I spent most of my life with hair down below my bottom.  Getting on in years, I decided to cut it short.  My hair was never a problem before, now it is a problem!

My hair does not want to be short.  I have had to learn to cut it myself, because I cannot pay for all the help it needs.  Weeds never grew this fast.  I never noticed when it was long, I just trimmed it twice a year and tried to make sure it kept out of the toilet.

I am blessed with thick hair that grows!

Reason #9

I am tall for a woman. I feel that people respect me more and think I am more competent because I am tall. I am 5 foot 9 inches. I can look down on many men...and in the eye of many others.  Being long is a great asset in my profession, OR nurse. My Mom would use me to reach the top shelf. (She is 5 foot 5 inches) Again, nothing that I did myself, just a blessing.

Yes, I have been this tall next to my friends!

Reason #8

For most of my life I have been considered cute and thin.  I don't really understand this.  Should I brag about good genes?

The Ultimate "Never Give Up" Movie

Reason #7

I live in a society that made "300". The story of the Spartans, how 300 stood up to the Persian army of thousands and won. The ultimate "never give up" movie!

This movie is all about perseverance!

Please wait for it to load!

I hate war movies, this is about persevering! If you have not seen it you should!

Can you tell I am watching it now?

Reason #6

I still have a job! A very good thing in today's economy. Lucky I live in the Washington DC metro, where there are about a million hospitals, not to mention surgery centers!

We also have many interesting sites. If you get bored, just go to the Mall. (No, not a place with stores, a place with things like the Lincoln Memorial)

P.S.  The cherry  blossoms are beautiful!

Washington DC

Reason #5

I have a great dog and cat. The dog is named Hana (means flower). She is my daughter's. My daughter walks her, feeds her and picks up after her. I get all the perks without the mess!

The cat is Waffles. She is slightly strong willed and very beautiful. She is always there for me if I feel down!

My cat & dog

reason #4

Good Health...of course this is another thing that good genes can be blamed for. This hub may have been shorter if I just claimed good genes.

Reason # 3 much fun, so much to read, so much to write...need I say any more?

Reason #2

Family!  I have the best two children!  I come from a family of 5 children...all wonderful people I can be proud of.  My family maintains my ideals of love and giving.

Reason #1

God...the one who gives me most of my blessings and who makes possible the rest!  I am thankful for my "good genes"...who do you think gave them to me?

Take the Poll!

What is the greatest blessing?

I believe family, friends and God are the greatest blessings anyone can have. Health, intelligence and the ability to preserve would be next on that list for me.

This was a fun read. :D

Thanks for the fun read. I voted for family. That's my biggest blessing, altough I am thankful for all my others too.

You are indeed blessed. But what's more important is that you are truly thankful and appreciative of these blessings. Now I'd have to count my own blessings. Yipes! I think I'd only manage top 3! LOL :D

Great hub. I voted God. But I have a question. How do you keep all that hair and all those....endowments...covered in surgery?

I second Christa Dovel's comments. You are indeed blessed with good genes! Our cat Dusty looks a lot like Waffles.

Thanks Everyone! I know I posted a comment the other day...I don't know where it went.

Good family, good genes and God are what make me happy! Whatever curve ball this world throws me, I know I have these three things to count on. I am truly blessed!!!!

Proud Mom--LOL, I am not that endowed! It is not a picture of me. I have, in recent years cut my does not like stayiing there, but I try.

Cris--I am sure you can come up with more than 3! Your humor is truly a blessing!

Goldentoad--I agree...better to know what you have than to wonder what you don't.

Peggy--In a few years, when people start buying genes, I'll make my million and take you all on vacation!

Christa--I'm glad you had fun. I agree the ability to persevere is one of life's great talents.
