Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

God wants us to trust Him. Everything in the Bible is from the Most High. It's from His heart and wisdom. When Jesus speaks to us through the Word of God, it's always pure, lovely and full of praises. It's all about Jesus.

When we have problems, we just give it to God and replace it with the Living Word of God. There are scriptures that every problems we have. When the Devil lies to us, or does things that harm us, we can boldly come to God for His wisdom and pure love. God wants us to rely on His Word and meditate the verses to replace those horrible, untrue, and dark thoughts that can cause depression, anxiety attacks and even worse, suicide thoughts.

His Word never fails. It's powerful and useful for our spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. His Word is our bread for our spirit, wisdom for our mind and peace for our bones and body. We need to allow the Word of God to flow through us like a river. Allow the river of life flow through our spirit and cleanses our thoughts by thinking of good reports such as Isaiah 53 or Psalms 91, these chapters can help us receive peace to our hearts and minds by trusting God, and allowing Him to live through us.

Jesus is the only lovely thing I can think of beside my wife and family. Jesus is the One who keeps my marriage strong, my relationship with my daughters peacefully, and as a humble servant of the Lord. As a pastor, I rely on the Word of God and the Holy Spirit who is my Comforter and Teacher. When I think of Jesus, God deserves all my praises because He's the Almighty, the Aleph and Tav. He's the Lord of Lords and King of Kings!

So if we have problems or just want to ponder on something, open our Bibles and find Jesus! When we find Jesus, our hearts overflow with the Love of Christ and there is no limit on how much love receive from the Most High Jehovah!

When your are in the dark, thinking those thoughts that can harm your spirits, minds, and bodies, go to God. God wants you to come to His loving arms and stop depending on your own minds and dwell in the Word of God. The more we dwell in Him, the less we think of those thoughts.

Keep the faith and think on those things that is true, noble, pure, honest, and of Good Report. The best thing to think about is Jesus!

So many Christians remain miserable under their problems because they neglect Phil 4:8. Learning to replace the negative thinking that naturally comes with problems by thinking on "whatever things are good..." is something we all very much need. Thanks for highlighting that point.

To control our thoughts is one of the most difficult things and we can only do that through prayer and trusting in Jesus.
