Your most important appointemnt

Updated on February 9, 2012

The steps to Heaven begin with the word

It is important every day to spend time with Him

Are you neglecting the most important appointment of your day? Do you know the most important time of day is also your most special time of the day? Then why would you callously neglect it?

Your most important time of the day of course, is the time you spend with Jesus. We do this by reading His instruction manual, which obviously is the Bible. It is His gift to us as an instruction manual on life. Every aspect of our lives is covered in this revered book.

When you follow His divine directions for life you will discover less stress and worry in your life. It will obviously be replaced with peace and contentment (couldn’t most of us use a lot more of that in our hectic, pressure cooker lives).

I prefer to digest the Holy Word first thing in the morning when the mind is unclogged with the days activities. Many times the words and their meanings seem to just jump out at me. I contemplate them and digest them. Sometimes they will give me direction on what needs to be done or said in certain circumstances that have been festering. Sometimes during the course of the day a situation will arise and those words flash before my eyes and are remembered on how to handle this situation.

So, how about you? Do you have a special time to listen to the advice of this wisest sage for your daily life? If not, why not begin today. Determine that first thing you do in the morning (after going to the bathroom of course) is to take time to read the best instruction manual there is. Why not subscribe to Christian emails like Our daily bread, Daily Encounter with Dick Innes and back to the Bible. These emails will not only provide you with Bible passages, but will simply explain their meaning and references to our lives.

"Now then, my sons, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. "Proverbs 8:32-33, New International Version

Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (our God is present) instill in my heart a desire to study and digest Your wonderful inspiring Word every morning so that it will guide me throughout my day. In the name of the greatest Rabbi Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ love bless you today and every day
