Are These Things Called Orbs?

Updated on September 16, 2014

I didn't even really know what an orb was!

Recently, my husband and I attended a local Intender's Circle meeting. It was held at the Hasayampa Canine Resort and Spa, which is owned by a couple from our church, and it has a lovely central area large enough for meetings such as ours.

This was our first time at the Intender's Circle, and neither of us really knew what to expect. We did know that it was loosely based on the Law of Attraction, and that we could expect to give and receive support for the things that we and others wished to manifest in our lives.

Intenders Meeting

As Usual

We really did enjoy our first Intenders Circle meeting. It was truly a wonderful experience with a lot of like minded people. The meeting consisted of prayer, food, meditation, toning, voicing our intentions, and praise and support for the intentions of others. I was truly moved and will make it my habit to return for more.

Toward the end of the meeting, my friend Marcia, pulled out her camera and started taking photos around the room. Both Mark and I thought this was a bit unusual, as she wasn't taking OUR pictures, but aiming her camera above our heads. After taking about a dozen pictures, she passed the camera around the room. The photo above is what we saw. If you look in the frame below, you will see the tops of our heads (me on the right and Mark between the two paintings).

What are these things, anyway? - As if anyone could REALLY tell me!

Fascinated, I decided to do a little research on orbs. If you've looked into it at all, you can see that it is a field of not a little controversy, with many camps therein. From paranormal phenomena, to dust particles, to spirit guides, to ghosts, to UFO's. All sides present convincing arguments to tantalize the intellect. And, after many hours of reading, I am more confused than when I started.

I did, however, take a closer look at the photo that Jim sent to me. I zoomed in on the orb directly above my husband's head. It looks like a face! (see below) Now, what does that mean? That face looks nothing like anyone in the room. Now, I am even more befuddled than I was before!

And, Who is That Person? - See... In the Orb?

My Conclusion

For Now, At Least

Personally, I kind of like the spirit guide idea! It delights me to think I have guardian angels following me around and attending meetings with me!

If I think of something better, I'll be sure to share!

What fun!

I believe they are dust. I do believe in spirits, so I'm not doubting that spirits can be around or can occasionally be captured on film, but I also was a photographer, and 99% of orb photos look like dust/moisture to me. It's actually one of the easiest things to re-create-- just swipe a dusty shelf or shake a ceiling fan, then stand back and take pictures of the room. You'll get dozens of orbs. I'm wary of 'faces' and such, because of parodalia. Very cool videos though, it's certainly a big debate. Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted you to know that I'm featuring this lens on my orb pictures lens. Its a special interest kind of lens, out of the box, and this should do real good in the ratings. I hope you have worked on your tags words and keywords, Google AdWords is a good one to see about search words and phrases. Once again I hope this lens does well and it should get some traffic from my lens, anyway...I hope it does. --- I could see a face in that big orb pictures. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help...
