Abomination of Desolation
The Abomination of Desolation is God's Signal for Christians to “flee to the Mountains”
The Lord Jesus Christ spoke to His disciples: “Therefore when you see the "abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.“(Mt. 24:15-16)
Flee to the Mountains
The “abomination of desolation” spoken by Daniel the prophet concerns the defilement of the temple. Daniel prophesied “And after sixty two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood. And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.” (Dan. 9:26-27)
Daniel had prophesied accurately that the Messiah Jesus Christ “shall be cut off, but not for Himself” meaning He would sacrifice Himself for the sins of mankind. The crucifixion that occurrred in 33 AD would precede the Roman invasion in 70 AD. Daniel also prophesied accurately “the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary” points to none other than General Titus whose father was the Roman Emperor Vaspasian. Titus and his Roman army destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. “And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.” (Dan 11:31)
After the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple the Jews were dispersed abroad to various places, and there were no longer any daily sacrifices. Before the Roman army destroyed the temple in Jerusalem In 70 AD the disciples of Christ had already fled “to the mountains.” Historical records show the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ took refuge in Petra the rock city that is about one hundred miles south of Jerusalem.
The Disciples of Christ have already fled to the Rock City of Petra before the Destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD
Insurmountable Obstacles of Building the Third Temple
Some eschatologists believe and teach that since the Second Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD the Third Temple must be built in order that the abomination of desolation can happen. The problem with this teaching is that at present the Islamic Dome of the Rock occupies the same location as Herod's Second Temple that was destroyed. In order to build the Third Temple the Dome of the Rock has to be demolished. Even if the Dome of the Rock were to be destroyed by a natural disaster such as an earthquake the Islamic law requires it to be rebuilt. Some Jewish scholars argue that the Dome of the Rock is not located in exactly the same spot as the Second Temple, so their architect have drawn plans for the Third Temple to be located on a site close to it. There is still a big problem with this scheme. Israel has turned over management of the Temple Mount to an Islamic council, known as the Muslim Waqf. There is very little possibility that the Muslim Waqf would approve such a plan.
Dome of the Rock and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the Third Most Sacred Building Site in the Islamic Religion
Impossible to build the Third Temple without demolishing the Dome of the Rock and start a War between Israel and all the Islamic Nations
Among Sunni Muslims, Al-Haram Al-Sharif the Temple Mount is widely considered to be the third holiest site in Islam. Revered as the Noble Sanctuary (Bait-ul-Muqaddas) and the location of Muhammad's journey to Jerusalem and ascent to heaven. Regardless of whether or not this is true it is inconsequential to the idea of building the Third Temple on the Temple Mount.
Just consider the Second Intifada (rebellion or resistance in Arabic) that occurred on September 28, 2000, when Palestinian rioting erupted following the visit to the Temple Mountof Ariel Sharon (Israel's eleventh Prime Minister). In the first five days of rioting and clashes after the visit, Israeli police and security forces killed 47 Palestinians and wounded 1,885 while Palestinians killed 5 Israelis. If an attempt is made to build the Third Temple on the Temple Mount there would be an all-out war between all the Islamic nations and Israel. Under the present circumstance it is impossible for the Abomination of Desolation to happen on the Third Temple. There has to be another way or another explanation for it to happen in the Twenty First Century.
What is the Abomination of Desolation?
The word “abomination” in the Holy Bible refers to objects that God despise and hate very much, like the “pagan idols of wood, stone, silver and gold” (Deut. 29:16-17). “Abomination” also refers to a human practice and behavior such as homosexuality that is extremely detestable to God. “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”(Lev. 18:22) “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.” (Lev. 20:13)
Lesbianism, which is the perverted sexual practice between women, is mentioned in the New Testament. “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.” (Rom. 1:26-27) “that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve those who practice them. (Rom. 1:32).
The word “desolation” means emptiness, bareness, uninhabitation and desertion. It refers to the condition of a place that had been laid waste, deserted and became uninhabited. The word "desolation" also means barrenness.
“Abomination of desolation” simply means the human behavior of the people is such that it causes barrenness. Same sex marriage cannot reproduce children. Homosexuality is the "abomination of desolation" (Lev. 18:22; 20:13). The cities that practice homosexuality are so vile and loathesome to God that He would cause it to become desolate and uninhabited. There are only two cities mentioned in the entire Bible that God had destroyed because of their abominable sin of homosexuality, and that is Sodom and Gommorrah. "and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;" (2 Pet. 2:6) “as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. “ (Jude 1:7)
Abomination of Desolation in the New Testament Temple
So the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" But He was speaking of the temple of His body. Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.” (Jn. 2:18-22)
The Lord Jesus Christ has given us the new meaning of the temple which is His body. The apostle Paul wrote: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” (1 Cor. 3:16-17)
“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Cor. 6:18-20)
When Christians engage in homosexual acts they defile the temple of God which is committing the wicked sin called abomination of desolation.
Same Sex Marriage is now Accepted by the Majority of Americans
In the new ABC News/Washington Post survey released on March 18, 2011 it shows that, for the first time in a decade of polling, a majority of Americans now support same sex marriage.
That finding comes just weeks after the Obama administration announced that it would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act — the law that prohibits the federal government from recognizing same sex marriages performed in states where they are legal — in court.
In the poll, 53% of American adults said they think same sex marriage should be legal, compared to 44% who said it should not be. ABC found support for same sex marriage up six points from just one year ago, when 47% of Americans told the network it should be legal, while 50% said it should remain illegal.
It does not matter what you call it – same sex marriage, gay marriage, civil union or domestic partnership – it is an “Abomination of desolation” to God.

America is not even Ashamed of its Abomination of Desolation
"Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall be cast down," says the LORD. (Jer. 6:15)
According to the Holy Bible even the people who approve of same sex marriage will be punished by God. "who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. " (Rom. 1:32)
"Therefore, as I live,' says the Lord GOD, "surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity." (Ezek. 5:11)
The President of the United States of America represents the American people. President Obama has openly and publicly supported same-sex marriage.

The "abomination of desolation" has already been committed in America. God's Remnant Christians must start moving out of harm's way and go to the Places of Refuge that He has prepared for them.
God does not punish the Good People together with the Bad People
"For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) -- then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment," (2 Pet. 2:4-9)
Pray and ask God to show you the Way of Escape
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Lk. 21:36)
