I've had several near death experiances throughout my life. And I've always had the sense that someone was watching out for me. Every time it was the same story, "a centimeter this way and you would have been dead" "Two more minutes and you might not have made it"
But it was a car accident about 10 years ago that sealed it for me. I was driving a taxi - wating outside someone's house at 3:00 AM. I had been sitting with my feet outside of the car door smoking a cigarette. Before finishing my smoke, something told me to get my legs inside the car. So I moved my feet from to road into the car, and shut the door. Moments later I was hit head on by a drunk driver doing nearly 50 mph.
Though I joked some time later saying "I wish he'd told me to get out of the car" I later came to realized that that was part of the path that I was meant to walk. That accident led me to my faith, to leave Florida, to move to Pittsburgh, and led me to some people that I truly cherish in this world.
I truly believe that everything that happens, even the bad stuff is for good reason. That it is meant to teach you something, or change something inside of you. God saved my legs, if not my life that day, and I've been a faithful follower from then on.
