When I think about colour black, I don't think about the skin colour. Maybe because blacks (Africans) more often than not are not BLACK as whites are not WHITE.
Blacks are more brownish. I love when Halle Barrie says "as a woman of colour". I am thinking "What colour would that be?" But bear with me, I am a cosmopolitan, I come from Russia.
I like dark skin and the contrast, yet some people are beautiful regardless of skin colour and some are ugly. Unfortunately.
But the colour "black" - it is sort of indifferent until you go outside and everybody wears black.
My thoughts "People, what is wrong with you? Do you have no imagination?" I prefer colour, as in bright colour, I prefer light, as in bright light. African women traditionally also wear bright colours. So, there you go. Black. Colour.
Black serves only to contrast it. I try to avoid living my life "In Black",
Remember "The Heart of Darkness"?
"The Horror, the horror!!!"
