If you believe in god, what is your explanation for the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan?

Why did god let this happen?
How can a god let so many innocent people (of which are a lot of children) die?

why can't god let innocent people die?...well we are viewing from narrow prism of singular species...if god cared due you think innocent dinosaurs would have got extinct...we have indirectly killed half of other species in name of development...all those were innocent...god doesnot interfere...it is auto system which operates...and auto system runs according to cause/effect criteria...

GOD is not the blame. Japan is on top of a major fault line/platonic plates like California is and many other places in the world which scientist knows where they are and yet human beings still build cities there knowing the dangers of getting severe earthquakes in these areas all over the earth. Mankind can build cities in less prone areas around the world if they choose to do so and 1area of less severe prone area to live on the earth is Fort Collins, Colorado. There are places in Colorado that earthquakes have occur but nothing of this magnitude like Japan and California gets and people knows of the risks that they are taking for living where they live at on the earth. It is not personal and just a reality of the risks people live with on living on the earth. We are smart enough and technology enough to protect ourselves as much as possible from these kind of events which happens almost daily all over the world. Most of the earthquakes that happens is barely felt on the surface of the earth but earthquakes are part of the reality of living on planet earth. Do not blame GOD. Humanity was given the intelligence of how to live on the earth with these events and how to protect ourselves if we would only use our brain for this and other conditions of life on the earth. Example: if there is an volcano nearby we do not build cities and dwell right next to it no matter how long of a period between episodes of eruption and yet people still live and dwell close to the volcano. People have free will and let us start using our free will in wisdom and common sense of what to do and not to do in these conditions on the earth over all the earth. We can go to the moon but we can not use common sense to not expose ourselves to the  dangers that is around us on the earth. Wake up humanity and let us do the right thing for all human beings.

Pretend for one moment that God is real and He made you and He knew you before you were born.  Then after death, you will  spend eternity with Him.  Therefore, this life is only a whisp of smoke compared to eternity.  Earthly tragedies are MUCH more tragic to Athiests because they think this world is all there is.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.  Now humanity has to live with the consequence of that decision until the end.  God doesn't intervene in global tragedies because Adam made our decision in the Garden of Eden. Some persons would ask, " How can that be FAIR for Adam & Eve's sin to fall on US?  The answer to that is in the book of Romans....

"Therefore, as through one man's offence (Adam), JUDGEMENT came to all men resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act (Jesus), the free gift came to all men resulting in justification of life."  Romans 5,18.  (parentheses added).

Do you see it is NOT fair what Adam did to us... and it
is equally not fair what Jesus did for us also! But the two added together make sense and fairness is restored!

A non-believer only sees the  physical world, and doesn't perceive any spiritual reality.  With that kind of world-view it is understandable to conclude "There is no God."  or "God is indifferent."  Read the book of Romans and most of your questions will be answered. It is only about 12 pages long.

Also, the book of Revelation shows we are living in the LAST DAYS where earthquakes and other bad things "Must come to pass." as predicted 2000 years ago in the bible.

hy does anyone die....the manner of death is irrelavant- all things must pass innocents die every day and evil lives on-Its not fair but LIFE IS NOT FAIR
.THE loRD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS. innocents have died since the begining of time- It is a weak answer but-looking into the mind of God is like throwing a stone into the ocean and expecting a tidal wave-.....
God does things to try men's souls.
besides humans have built on all sorts of dangerous places- japan an actively volcanic island-  San Fransisco and part of California will drop into the ocean- killing millions- a block off the west coast of africa the size of Rhode Island- is going to fall into the ocen sending a huge Tidal wave into the east coast of N and S america- these things are going to happen- due to natural processes that also used to happen oon mars....when it had water- no people God let that happen too- e has created a world for us that allows us to live on it- no one said it had to be easy....
