Instead of forbidding muslims, the USA should make some form of requirement for any devout muslims to acknowledge this line in their Holy book.
I don't think it would be fair to dismiss a person as a whole based on 1 line in a book that the religion they believe in. One could argue that not everything should be taken literally, but that line IS hard to take out of context.
The country was founded on being tolerant and accepting people of all colors and religions, but when one directly requests violent action upon another based on their beliefs, a line must be drawn. Rather than forbid or dismiss any of them I just think it should be requested to be acknowledged and if anything determined in some way that any religious Muslim person should not seek to harm their fellow citizens, because that's what it comes down to.
If two people of the same nation think different about a topic (religion), that is understandable and expected. If two people think one is right and the other is wrong, that is also understandable and expected. But if one person thinks that they are being asked by their religion to KILL the other person because what they believe is wrong, that is too much. If a person, and this means ANY person of any color of any religion, is to be a humane, proper citizen, the intent or belief that their fellow citizen, man/woman [generally their fellow HUMAN companion] should be murdered UNTIL THEY SUBMIT - that is just a conquest.
I'm an Atheist, I find religion to be very destructive, but I don't mind if a person has a personal belief or a religion-based enthusiasm that pertains to THEMSELF. But a person or a religion is stating that anything, let alone violence and murder, should occur until the only religion is the one they preach, they are no longer using it [religion] as a personal tool but as a method of conquest.
No person, No deity, Nothing in the world that a human being [or a robot or a freakin' cow or anything, spare me] believes in should enforce violence, waging war or trying to specifically pin 1 idea or topic or belief being superior to another.
I think Reese's Pieces are the BEST friggin candy you can buy, blows M&M's outta the water. If I rally other fans of it to wage war on M&M's eaters until there are only RP eaters, how am I any different?
