If God is not true, Do you think man should still obey the ten commandments?

If this generation insists God to be not true, does it make sense to obey or pick any idea pertaining to the ten commandments claimed to be originally given by God to Moses or should man, in his own wisdom, create another set of commandments for himself?

the commandments, like the bible were wisely written with great ideas to follow. most people don't need new rules to follow , we use common sense and experience to show us what i right and wrong.
we didn't need the original commandments because most of those rules were probably already being practiced before they were made. just use your head and our laws and you will be fine.

Yes, for the most part. A few of the commandments are actually about god, so that's a bit confusing. However, the other ones about not doing bad things are helpful, although I do think we could have figured out that it was bad to kill people without them.

It is not right for me or you to dictate what others should obey.

Man can make their own common laws to protect basic human rights, commerce, environment and in any areas we feel could improve our lives.

But we should not make laws based on our religious view points on others who do not share our religious view point.
This is why our early founding fathers decided that there should be a separation between the Church and State. I even feel this action was inspired by God.

I do not want a Muslim to dictate to me that I should stone a  woman to death. I don't want a Christian to dictate to me about  gay marriage.  I don't want  a Hindu to dictate to me how I should treat the lower caste.

We as humans write our rules as we see fit. God is very capable of taking care of his rules, if any, without the help from any one of us. I honestly believe that God gives us free choice.

The first three are irrelevant with out god and 2 are repetitions.
If you don't obey the relevant ones most probably you'll be behind the bars, or in dire straits!
