I have no religion. I have a spirituality. There's a huge difference. Religion is based on "good deeds" to please a said "god". Most people confuse the two. I am a Christian, but Christianity is not a religion. Its not based on doing good deeds to go to Heaven, Its based on God and His rules, The 10 Commandments. While Catholic's believe you get into heaven based on how "good" you are, much like other religions, Christianity is more about, how not "good" you are. To be a "good" person by definition is to be as Jesus was, which is free of sin. No human walking this earth today is sinless. We can all try, but we all lie or think things that we shouldn't. This is why having Jesus Christ is important in Christianity.
I am a Christian because I know I am not perfect, worthy and I make mistakes. God is willing to forgive me, thru Jesus Christ because he died for everyone's sins. People make such a big deal out of Christian's being hypocrites and shoving their beliefs down other people's throats. A true Christian, knows God's law and abides by it the best he/she can. As a Christian, I am in no place to judge gays, atheists, murders, whores, or people of another belief. Although I don't agree with what they do, it doesn't make "me" right. It's not about what I like or hate, Its about God, and often Christian's forget this. I sometimes don't even like to call myself a Christian because of what said "Christians" do, but again, I am in no place to judge.
Its okay to have questions. Find your spiritual path to God, not your religion, is the best advice I can give. :)
