Is "irreducible complexity" an attempt to justify "faith" in a more complex forum. Is it a way to try to lend credibility to what cannot be explained?

No, it means that complex organisms like people cannot have evolved from a single-celled organism. At what point did each part of the eye evolve, for example? All parts are required for vision.
