   Do you feel comfortable discussing your spiritual/religious beliefs in public?
   
   In the Hubpages Answers, I often want to answer questions about religious/spiritual topics but I feel uncomfortable because it is something so personal.

   This is a great question (and the first question I'm answering!) so I can't resist answering it.  Personally, I am the kind of person who is very open about my spiritual/religious beliefs in public.  The main reason that I am pretty comfortable about discussing what I believe in is because I do feel strongly about my beliefs, while at the same time I always feel that there is common ground with other people and what they believe in.  You are right about this being a very personal topic and I have to say that I wasn't always so open.  I chalk it up to age, life experience and most of all, just believing in yourself and what you are about!

   I think the feeling of being uncomfortable when speaking about spiritual issues, arises when other people begin judging you harshly regarding your beliefs.
   I also think that monotheistic religions, which state that there is only one "right" god, also do not help. It is important, in my opinion to except other people's opinion.
   With that in mind, I respect anyone's beliefs, as long as they do not hinder the lives of others. And I already acquired the nick-name of the 'non-believer', here on Hub-pages so I have nothing more to worry about. 
   
   I pray to Wakan Tanka, Apollo, Gelebeizis, Zamolxis and Lord Vishnu. We can talk about it anytime lol - I do think discussing things helps.
   Thank you for your question and do speak-up when you feel like it; let people think what they will - they will do so anyhow (lol). Cheers!

   It is very dependent on how deep I am discussing it. I am not ashamed that I love Jesus and I wuld tell everyone on earth if I could, but as far as my close and personal spiritual walk goes I like to keep that between me and Jesus. It's like when you're in a relationship with someone. Do you tell everyone every facet of your relationship with that person? No. Because it is a strong bond and intimate. I don't know, maybe I'm just the weird Jesus freak out of the bunch.

   not really. being an athiest can get you hated real quick in this world. i lost a girlfriend before because of my beliefs. i have been turned down for work by religious people and it won't change for a long time to come.

   Yes.  I feel comfortable because sometimes it provokes conversations about new ideas or beliefs that I am unaware of.
   
   If you are uncomfortable saying it out loud, then how strongly do you really believe what you are saying?
   
   I've been Catholic, I've been Episcopalian, I've belonged to a Christian Fellowship, and so on, all of these 'religions' failed me in one way or another, and now I just believe that there is a higher spiritual being.  Call him God, call him Allah, call him Fred, maybe he doesn't even have a name, but there is a higher spiritual being, it's our energy source.  Does he care if we are good or bad?  Will he stand before us with weights and measures after we die, and tell us how we fared?  You got me.
   
   I don't need a congregation to have a personal relationship with my higher being, but I do need conversation to enlighten me, or show me a different point of view.
   
   The body is a vessel for the soul.  When the body dies, poof! The soul goes somewhere.  It has to. It's energy.  The point is, you got to where you are right now because of something somebody said, did, or showed you.  If we all stopped talking about it, we will all stop growing spiritually.
