It's strange how we've all been led to believe that God is a Him. What if it's a Her?
I joke. For like you I don't know what God is. However, I can tell you this.
If God is Omni-present, Omni-scient, Omni-present, it means He (we have to use some label so I'm saying 'He') must be everywhere, in every thing, both the tangible and the non-tangible, the real, the imagined and the unimaginable (unimaginable by we humans) Therefore He must be in us. Has to be.
We told to concentrate on being aware, being in the present moment: looking, seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling, touching as an infant does, without judgement or labelling.
So what is doing the looking, seeing etc? Who is this? Why, it is the Observer, the Experiencer. If God is in everything and every thing, then He/She/It must be looking out through our eyes, hearing with our ears. If that were not the case we would be SEPARATE from God, and we cannot be, for He is EVERYWHERE.
This Observer, this Experiencer, this Witness never changes. Only the experiences change. This is our constant. I suspect that this is the part of us we can call 'the god in within us.'
You believe in yourself, don't you? You know you exist. The big question in most people lives is is this ' Will this awareness continue. Does it last? Or do we fade away at life's end like a spent battery? Are we the temporary container? (or body) or are we the very life in the body?
We shouldn't expect an immediate answer - though we might get one. If we ponder on these things maybe we'll stop "Sweating the small stuff" and start wondering what our lives really are all about. Maybe we'd put the 'soap opera' things in perspective.
I hope this answer has given you some 'food for thought.'
