To have close ties in communication. To gather in one place. To fellowship...just to name a few.

I go for inspiration. I also want to learn from the prophets of God.  Sometimes when I hear another persons view of a statement made by a particular prophet, it helps me get a better understanding of any or no particular subject.

You don't go to church to pray, you should go to church to fellowship, even though prayer is a part of going to church, your prayer life is more so at home, where you live.

I go to church because God says He will be there when two or more gather together in His name. Church can be anywhere, at home or abroad.
Prayer should be continuous regardless of where we are.

We go to church to get a better understanding of Kingdom Living. It is also a means of motivation so not to slip back into old habits.

Doesn't it make you happy to see your fellow christians? It does to me. With the whole week of being in the secular world meeting people with different beliefs, going to church is a relief for me seeing my brothers and sisters in christ.
I also go there so that I may share my passion of glorifying the Lord. It's such a joy seeing all of us praising Him. Also, it'll keep the engine running.

Going to Church is like pulling your car into a gas station when it is low on fuel.  When we are out in the world the grace that is given us gets used up.  God did not save us to hide our salvation but to show it to others.  We need to fill up our tanks from time to time to insure we can make it.

It is also like lifting weights.  Going to Church helps us to become stronger in the Lord. There are also times that I need the help of my brothers and sisters to overcome something that I am up against.  The Bible asks a question, "How can we love God whom we have not seen if we do not love our brothers whom we have seen?"

We go to church to fellowship with other Christians.  Plus the worship and a good bible based, spine tingling, sermon does the soul good!!...

Because religion is not--IMO--merely about us as individuals and our relationship (if any) with God (if any.)

It's about our relationships with each other, too--or, in some cases, period.

In Christian scripture, this is neatly encapsulated in the "second great commandment" to "love your neighbor like yourself."

The Church is a community of people who gathers together as one.  There you see, it is not just a structure but "persons" who gather together.  When we go to Church take part in the ONENESS of the Church.  Through her servants, the ministers we are brought together as one family to celebrate the sacred mysteries especially of the Eucharist.

I find church very distracting when I'm trying to pray. And I find so many hippocrates at church who are "Holier than thou" during church but run you over to exit the parking lot after service is over. That behavior has turned me off of going to church.

God is with me everywhere I am and so I talk with him on a constant basis.

God is always within you and it is the sign of your spiritual maturity when you can feel and see god within you. Before maturing to this state you need the vibrating presence of god which you can see in places of worship, like church, temple or mosque.

Many people go to church for all the right reasons.
Unfortunately many more go only so they can be seen to be going to church.
These are the people that think they can do anything during the week then go to church on Sunday and pray for forgiveness.

Because we need others who believe as we do. The Bible says do not forsake the assembling together. We need each other for support when we are attacked. We need each other when we are weak and about to give in to temptation. We need each other when we have failed and want to return but feel useless because we have sinned. We need each other to keep us on track and running towards the goal.

    That is why.
