Schrödinger's cat and falling tree.

What is Schrödinger's cat and does a tree which falls in the forest where no one can hear it, make a noise? I came across this sentence and was on the toss trying to understand. For the benefit, here is the explanation. the mind dies so there is no observer for the private thoughts and feelings that mind had? With no observer, the mind should not have existed. But clearly it does. So an observer is not necessary for things, events, anything to happen. This means that observer-less phenomena will, more than likely, follow the same rules as observed phenomena. the cat will have either died or no
