First step - write them down in black and white. Second, begin to think about it as if it has already happened. Recall others who have reached that step and tell myself that it's absolutely possible. Third, accept it as something that I will accomplish. Fourth, break it down into small, measurable steps and start taking actions to reach each step one at a time. I also talk about it and get used to the idea not as a foreign abstraction but as a fixed goal that I am moving towards and expect to reach.
