God would have to exist before he could die, at least in a physical sense. In a fictional sense, the concept of god is immortal; he is a character that cannot die. In the area of belief, one could argue that his wide acceptance in the minds of logical people is starting to die. That is to say, if someone takes the time to educate themselves, and ask themselves the tough questions, they are more likely to come to the conclusion that god never existed, at least with the knowledge we have now. But I don't think belief in deities is ever going to die out as long as the human race persists. It's an easy answer to a hard question and provides a system of rewards for living a good life. It's very appealing, and it will always speak to certain people on some level.
