Are people being purposely taught that the Bible is all containing of God's word. Do people not know the history of the Bible? The book is a collection of unrelated books put together by the catholic church--specifically the New Testament. Why do Protestants teach otherwise by saying that Revelations is the end of the Bible when the word bible means library?

We disagree here, and that is okay. I do not believe God's words can be contained in one library and neither did John.
John 21:25 25
We all believe what we want though.
† 2 Timothy 3 : 16 - 17 †
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
Yes Elijah, all scripture. I believe that when we accept the first scriptures, Bible, Book of Mormon ans such, he will give us more. Only 2 billion Christians associate themselves to the Bible. We have a long way to go for the 4 billion other people.
Holy Scripture Is INFALLIBLE. 2 Nephi 26:12 claims this 545 BC "And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God;"
What about the countless other prophecies (i.e. the majority of the Old Testament) that were not fulfilled... If he really was the son of god shouldnt he have fulfilled every single prophecy ever? Nostradamus has a better record than God lol!
Thanks for the answer, but I disagree and that is okay. You are free to believe that God breath the Bible. There was not Bible in the early days in the church but the Torah. The books in the NT were not assembled yet as they were being written.
What was being written was being written for believers at that time, and those men received them as the word of God. Eventually, believers in Corinth shared their letters with those in Ephesus, etc, and what was long recognized became the Bible.
Thanks Mickey SR for the comment. Why is it so hard for people to accept that God inspires people today just as he did back then to write scriptures I wonder?
Actually, MickySr, you are absolutely incorrect. It is impossible for it to have existed "centuries before" the Catholic Church, but thats a whole other discussion. There were many "official" versions of the bible until as late as the 1700's. Duh.
Thank you for your answer. I have not problem with my faith and the Bible. I was converted to Christ by the Book of Mormon. I know I am a Christian. Historic Christianity is not my religion. I follow Christ not History. I look to God for answers.
Rodric, 'history' simply references what has been recorded, a record of what happened. Christianity follows the actual real Jesus, the Jesus history evidences - Mormonism, unfortunately, follows the teaching of Joseph Smith and his disciples.
Hi Mickey, is every comment going to be colored by my religion? You tell me what my faith follows yet I am the one that follows it. We follow Jess Christ. Jesus has written nothing for any of us to follow, but men like Joseph Smith and John have.
Rod JESUS Says: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life." Alma 7:10 "And behold, he shall be born of Mary, "at Jerusalem" which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin" DURR
You are correct and I add my own witness that the Bible is the word of God. By unrelated I mean no one wrote the New Testament with the idea that I would exist as it does today. Most of the NT is letters to the different congregations.
Brotheryochanan thanks for answering. You are quick to say I am in error, but read my question comments. I said specifically the NT. Revelations is the end of the Bible because that was where the church of England left it for the KJV.
Rod Mosiah 18:17 claims THIS in 147 BC "And they were called the church of God, or the church of Christ, from that time forward." Multiple entries in mormon book make claims for times AGES BEFORE Christ Was Born, of data ONLY available after JESUS.
thanks Elijah7, God reveled these things to the people in ancient America which is why they knew so much about the coming of Christ and the true purpose of the Law of Moses
I am Mormon and thanks for answering Flpalermo. I don't have enough room here to write the history of the Bible, but your citation only men that the OT was added to with the NT. Revelations was not the last book written either, just put last.
Rod, mormon story claims that descendants of the tribe of Manasseh (Alma 10:3) were made priests. The Holy Bible CONFIRMS that The Levites were The Priests. mormon book has thousands of contradictions. mormon book FIRST written mid 19th Century AD †
Correct Elijah, only the sons of Aaron and Moses before Christ were ordain after that order of the Levitical priesthood. The Nephites had the higher priesthood after the order of Melchizedek which cold also function in the office of priests.
Technically the canon wasnt closed until the 1600's but people just built other collections of books or added them to the end of the bible anyways. (This is what we call 'apocrypha') Also, pictures were included until the King James Version.
