I do not limit myself to either/or. Also, about the statement preceding your question: One BATCH of gunpowder, the load behind a single bullet in a single cartrdige, does indeed explode but once, though millions upon millions of cartridges can make "but once" pretty meaningless.
Also, the impact of a single shot can rank right up there with some pretty powerful words. An assassin who takes out a Martin Luther King, Jr., is not likely to produce more light by which the world can see clearly...but dropping a genocidal dictator might have definite benefits.
Bottom line, I carry both: A firm belief in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution AND the verbal ability to explain to others why that's important--now THERE'S a potent combination.
