Has anyone ever heard of a preacher refusing to speak at the funeral of a "lost" man?

My brother was in an accident and my family and I weren't sure if he was going to pull through. A preacher that came to the hospital said that he hoped my brother regained consciousness long enough to be saved because he couldn't preach at a lost man's funeral as a matter of principle. Thankfully my brother survived and the preacher's services were not required. Has anyone else heard of this self-righteousness?

Incredible - religion at its worst and most divisive, based on theological fantasy. Religion without spirituality.
