For last several days, a news item, about Taliban's public trial and death award to a woman on account of adultery, is disturbing me. I can understand that societies are having their specific moral standards. But I have never read anywhere about punishing men in such manner. While the provocation came from the news on Talibans, it has nothing to do with any specific religion. In all the religions, the expectations on moral (debatable) issue is higher for women and the punishment on account of violation is far harsh for women than men. Why is it so?
