Does religion or a similar moral guideline exist in African culture (exclusive of Western creeds)?

In South Africa, concepts of ubuntu (tribal or group wellness and charity) seem to exist. Yet, no common ideology can be established (in contradistinction to the Christian or Judaic beliefs) and equally, no distinct set of rules (think: Ten Commandments) can be found. Does this mean that African cultures have no underlying moral fiber, and if they do, what is it?
