    But if you invoke God's name to explain speaking in tongues, the argument becomes reductive, simply explaining every phenomena the same way. For many people, that's not sufficient to satisfy basic human curiosity about our behavior.

    Actually, we did not evolve from apes, as your flawed interpretation of evolutionary theory states. The acquisition of language by humans is the result of the expression of specific genes. Thus, any garbled speech can be explained easily.
