It's "Eat, Drink and Be MERRY, for tomorrow you may die." I believe it to be a philosophy of great merit.

This is quite comical and a fun question.
It is amazing how the interchanging of one letter can have two entirely different meanings.   merry versus marry.
Assuming that the word is spelled correctly i would say that being single can be much more merry than being married - so 'no' this should not be our motto for life.
If the word is unintentionally misspelled, then the answer would be a resounding 'yes'

Great catch!  I wonder what a philologist would say about that?

What about God? What about truth/wisdom seeking? And so on. There's nothing wrong with eating, drinking, and beind merry; but we ought to consider the pursuit of enlightenment as well.

This is a basic world motto already. The bible already tells us that when Jesus returns it will be like the days of Noah- they will be eating, drinking, marrying and than the end will come. They will be so busy leading there own lives and not seeking to glorify God that they will miss him. There's nothing wrong with eating, drinking or even getting married- but when are whole life is nothing but obtaining these goals it is in vain.

It was after many years of searching for "THE" truth that he came up with that statement. Maybe he did find ALL the answers and this was his final conclusion?   &  All else is fanity!   It is also written that nothing is as it appears to be ??

The truth is, this has been the motto of many, especially to those who does not lack financially. People find it difficult to think about God and obey his simple instructions especially when things are okay, and they become selfish in their thinking. when things are good I know that one may think charity and believed he has think well no!

Eating and drinking are two pleasures easily acquired in this great country of ours!  I don't drink alcohol - too bad the proginator of this phrase didn't know how good Coke and Cream Soda taste?

That Coke would taste better with a little rum in it.

"We can never learn enough". Though honestly, I believe we should have a motto more befitting Spock. Something to do with having knowledge but also embracing humanity and emotions.

Definitely not. We need to become productive members of society not adopt the hedonist culture.
