Should there be an increase in "pounding the pavement" like the Apostles in the New Testament did?

It seems that the hedonistic idolatry of the nations is at an all time high. We are in moral decline just like in the days of ancient Greece and Rome. Should precedence be on regaining back that which has been lost, or spreading the genuine Gospel message?

I think I used the wrong expression, "pounding the pavement" when I should have used, "follow the example of the apostles".

What would you deem as "bait" in evangelism?
