    Is faith enough?

    James 2:14-24

    Yes and no.

Without faith one cannot please God, but it is by grace (through faith) that one is saved and not by works should anyone boast. Having said that, James would be the first to point out that "faith without works is dead".

What he means by this is that if your faith and love for the Almighty and His glorious Son, Christ Yeshua, does not promote good works (deeds) within you...your faith is either dead or dying because being a true follower of Christ necessitates good works.

How can one claim to be a true follower of Christ Yeshua, yet they produce no good fruit? Does Holy Scripture not tell us that we can tell a tree by the fruit it bears?

These good works do not and cannot save you, but they help to reveal the health and vitality of your faith and say a great deal about you as a disciple.

Faith without action is shallow. Through faith, you can conquer any obstacle and eventually be a living proof of God's existence. Have a wonderful day and God bless!

Yes for me it has been and still is. I have faith that things happen for a reason, and I might not know what that reason is or not. I have found not having faith didnt take the Cosmic Source love away from me at all. I never did walk alone.

"To follow by faith alone is to follow blindly." Benjamin Franklin  Faith alone is never enough no matter what it is we are talking about.

So true. There are three pillars holding up all belief systems 1) Authority; 2) Reason/ logic; and, 3) Faith. Without employing sound reason or authentic authority...faith on its own is blind. :0)

      Well, wonders never cease. :0)

I just call them the way I see 'em and I am led by my conscience and God's Word. I do not dislike you, Peeples, and I hold nothing against you, but sometimes I must disagree with you...out of love and concern. :0)

No. Faith simply gives you the strength to keep (moving) forward with the belief that everything will work out for the best. Without faith/hope most people would give up! Action of some kind is always required. You can't win the lottery unless you buy a ticket! Too many people use (faith) as an excuse for not putting in any effort to get what they say they want out of life. "I'm (waiting) on god to....etc" Whether it be a job or a mate they're not going to show up at your door! That's not how life works.

I will agree with you that, in general, some action is required. Even when Peter was hard up for some money to pay his taxes, Christ Yeshua did not just hand him cash. Instead Christ told Peter to "go fish", where Peter found gold inside its belly.

Is faith enough? What more is there other than faith?

Genuine authority and sound reason together with faith equals a legitimate belief system. Without genuine authority or sound reason to accompany faith...it is nothing more than "blind faith", which is not something the Almighty wants us to employ.

Yes. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We are saved by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast.
I hope there is a heaven. I hope I am Saved. I have found evidence in the Bible that Jesus is real. All the evidence one will ever need is in the Bible. I showed my faith when I got up out of my seat at Church and went to an alter and accepted Jesus as my personal saviour.
One becomes a new creature when they become saved and have a new desire to do good works for the Lord.
I think it starts with faith. Then comes works.

Is faith enough. Yes faith brings me the gifts that on-one else or any other power can. Faith brings me the possibility of life after death. The power of protection daily and spirit that is always by my side through bad days and dark days too.

The only thing that counts from Jesus Christ's point of view is "faith working through love" (Galatians 5:6).

And, of course, the only point of view that matters is Jesus Christ's since He's the One who's truly in control and who will determine where each one of us will spend his/her eternity.

Faith PLUS WORKS is what works! But none of us can be saved by works alone. It is by God's FREE GIFT of grace that we are all made right with Him.
