From everything that I've read, and from my own personal experiences as well, I can honestly say that we all have free will. Situations in life may be planned for us to go through, but it's our choice to decide which way we want to go, in each situation. The end is not certain. The end will be what we decide.
Also, I don't believe in the dogma preached by various religions. I have read enough in my lifetime, and researched enough, to realize that religion is a business, created by man, to gain power over the people. Stories of the past are created to instill fear and fear is not a good emotion to entertain.
I believe that one must not look to another human, for the answers to spirituality. It's like the blind leading the blind. I believe we need to go within ourselves to find those answers. Meditation is a good way to do that. If you're looking for the truth, that's a good place to start.
Also, there are many books now, where near death experiences have been documented by people who never believed in the afterlife, or who lived their lives believing the teachings of men. One good book I can recommend is called, "Consciousness Beyond Life" by Pim van Lommel, MD. I think that the ground-breaking research that has been done by this man, will help enlighten you to the truth...
