My answer to your main question is 'yes.'
Describing the pivotal moment to my own satisfaction would require more space than allotted here.
In a nutshell, there was a single most pivotal point in my life, at the turning of the millennium.
It was a very difficult choice. It took my life in a direction I could not have imagined, opening vast horizons. 'Wanting' is to me something that the ego does. Instead, I would say it was a happening determined by destiny and my higher self.
Still, my personality made the decision, which was to be true to myself. It took me out of a 25 year marriage, out of the illusion of security, into the unknown.
My experience was very much as Robert Frost wrote,
"...Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
