   As a Christian are you aware of how many different kinds of LOVE there are and the differences?
   
   There are MANY different kinds of LOVE in the scriptures that are simply translated as "love:.  Are you aware of and do you understand them and their meanings?     Which one that is being used determines the meaning of the passage so it is important to understand each , where it is used, and its meaning, do you know them?

   I can't quote the specific verses of each type, but I've learned there are three.
   
   1) The love we have toward family, friends, and even our enemies.
   2) The closer love between a man and a woman in marriage.
   3) The unconditional, everlasting love God has for us.

   1 Corinthians 13 4-6
   Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
   
   John 15:13
   Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
   
   I like the 1 corinthians passage because it also says what love is not which really says a lot in my opinion.

      but that is only one of the many different kinds of love and each has its own meaning which must be understood to understand scripture correctly.   Unfortunately most people do not understand this and it causes much error and confusion.

   My husband studied some Greek.  We were going through some of them.  I'm sure it's not all:
   Agape - Fruit of the Spirit
   Phileo - intimate love 
   Philadelphia - brotherly love
   Philanthropia - kindness love toward another person
   Philadelphos - brethren, believers
   Chesed  (Hebrew) - God's faithful, loyal love
