Christ the great was son of God and he says that children of God are those that act like God,right?

With utmost repsect of sentiments of lovers of Christ the great, from the statement of Christ, it is clear that we all are sons and daughters of God, jesus being not the one only. If it being so, why do we regard ourselves as sinners and not as sons and daughters of God. It is only because that Christ the great acted like God that is why he is a true son while we are still struggling to act like him and are far from his perfection. However, it is a possibility that someone among us may with the grace of God attain such perfection to be called as a true son of God.
