How does your faith in God make a difference in times of adversity, disappointment, or hardship?
The circumstances of life sometimes get very challenging, but as a Christian, I find peace and guidance in God’s Word even in difficult times.
My faith in God always sustains me through difficult times. I find that in the end, my prayers are always answered and he carries me through. I like to pray the Glory Be, because it says, "Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen." This, i take to mean literally. I break it down. I give glory to the Father and Son for helping me in advance (and after my difficulty allays), and to the Holy Spirit, who brings me to God and the Son, to trust in them and make possible their intervention in my problem. As they have always done (in the beginning), as they are doing now, and as they always will - always; this promise, this "world," without end. Things will always be ok and end ok. I am reaffirming my faith in them to myself in this simple and powerful prayer. Faith, I feel, opens the gate for their intercession to stream unbridled, into my life. Amen. Amen means "Yes."
Thanks so much for your inspiring response. Yes! Faith in God sustains us in the most challenging of times.
Thank you Rayne123 and inspired heart. Blessings back at ya!
When i'm in times of adversity, i know god sent me these times to make me stronger.
When i should feel disappointed i don't as i know i should have tried harder, or it wasn't what, i "really" need/want in life.
In times of hardship i know god wants me to "get out there", & earn a living doing something i love doing, or be more grateful for what iv'e got.
So no matter what bad things happens in my life, i just try to work out what i need to learn from it.
I don't practice any religion, but i know god's put everything i want/need "out there" for me too find.
So i don't pray, rather i try to see where my heart wants to take me, & what i need to improve about my mental/emotional self.
I real believe in god, & i honestly reckon god wants us to "learn" & "earn" everything for ourselves.
Also when you really think about life would you actually want god's help,
Or would you rather take the challenge on your own, knowing god wants it that way, and god ALWAYS has your back?. :-)
Dave36, thanks for responding. God has a good plan for each of our life. He is with us when we face adversities, for he says he will not leave us or forsake us. He is there to help us.
I think he does have a plan for us, the thing is is we can never know our plan..I think that we have to try to follow our hearts, as i think that's the only way God communicates with us..If we silence our mind, i think that opens our heart ready.
My belief gives me reassurance that I can get beyond the issues, that there's a reason for what I'm encountering or experiencing, and God is ultimately in control, even if I am not. Over time (I'm 67), I have learned that the Good Lord has led me through a number of difficulties to teach and to test. His grace has prevailed. If I'm not where I want to be, I'm where He wants me to be. His grace is limitless, and need only recognize and respond to that.
Thanks for your helpful response, Edward. I find that calling to remembrance how God came through for in the past during challenging situations, helps to encourage me in hard times.
Beautiful question and explanation.
God is the source of all that we see and everything that we don't see. Our sun, and all of the 200 billion other suns in this galaxy. Plus all of the billions of galaxies beyond our own and all of their billions of suns.
When you realize that your tiny problem on this speck of a planet is nothing compared to the power of the Almighty God, you know that He can do anything to help His children, if they are humble and confident (faithful) in His ability to do so.
God created us in His image and likeness and He is not Homo sapiens. That says a lot about who we really are.
It's all about love.
Thanks for your insightful comments, lone77star. Yes, when we recognize that God is our source, and that he is faithful to supply our needs, we can go through hardships with confidence.

If you believe we are created in the image and likeness of God, do you believe we should be like GodGrowing up through many different churches I was taught (by church leaders) not to question church leaders authority, to stay in your box and everything outside of that box shouldn't be looked upon....

How to trust God in difficult times?Sometimes, when things get tough, it is quite easy to lose your faith in the one Supreme Being. Have you ever gone through such times? How did you manage to keep your faith in God?

I'm a Hindu by birth but I follow Christianity...What should I do to save my husband? My husband is not a religious person. He is a Hindu too. Whenever we fight, the only topic he brings about is my faith in Jesus. He doesn't understand the importance of Bible.
