    Does God Need Us?

To what extent, if any, can we say that God "needs" us (to help establish his kingdom, to evangelize, to steward the earth, etc.).

The bible shows that God is self sustaining and does not need humans to survive. It is because of his will that we exist and is the source of all power. Revelation 4:11 states "You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created."
Isaiah 40:26 brings out “Raise YOUR eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one [of them] is missing." So clearly he does not need us for anything.

However he does care for us very much which is why he has made provisions to save mankind from the state that they are currently in. Soon war, sickness, crime and injustice will no longer exist. WOuld you like to learn how? Visit www.jw.org

God does not need us. I guess that would be the short answer.
I believe that God desires to be in a relationship with us. That He loves us enough to send His Son. We were created and then ignored His support and grace. We constantly strive to become closer to Him, but I cannot think of any resource, that would be credible, stating God needs anything.

Yes, God needs us, otherwise He would not have launched such an involved and detailed rescue mission.

Doesn't any parent need their children, especially when they become lost?

God created us in His image and likeness and He is not Homo sapiens. And that says a lot.

No, I agree with Rev. Akins.  God does not need us or anything.  He wants to have a relationship with us and loves us enough to die for us while we are still in our sin, but does not need us.
