What should be the aim of a human life in our times?
Much has been said and written on this subject since time immemorial. But have the demands of our times changed the reference points.
Opportunity and dangled carrots (temptations presented to us through the media) are distorting our picture of the world. They are making more and more people of this world, rather than of spirit and merely living in the world.
The Corporations are selfish entities frequently run by equally selfish individuals. It is in the corporate interest to sell us their products and to make more and more profit. By law they are required to do this, even if it means causing great harm on the world and society.
Increasingly, the call is to great division. We have become increasingly polarized -- one group set against another. Our egos have been manipulated and we have self-sorted ourselves into neat little packages for greater manipulation and control.
The aim of any human, especially in this age of critical social mass, is to reduce ego. Don't react to the Corporate stimuli of 9/11, terrorism, illegal aliens, drugs and the like. We should learn to let go of attachments, especially to the source of all attachments -- ego.
Increasingly, we should reduce the importance of earthly things in our lives. We will have help in this, but most people will not see it as help and will suffer greatly.
Those who suffer the most will be those who are the most polarized. When we go to the middle -- meek, quiet, loving, fearless in their faith in God, and responsible for even the madness around them -- we find solace in things not of this world.
When we return to spirit, then we honor the purpose for which these human bodies were originally created. They are vessels for helping us return across the river of darkness to what the Buddhists call the "paramita" (the other shore -- the perfections of things we see in this world). We need to let go of the dichotomous things of this world, because they are false. They are unreal and impermanent.
The realm of spirit is the only place of any permanence. This is our home.
The same as what it's always been Sundeep, but the game will always keep changing so people never catch on to it..The game of life which i reckon is a learning curve/test, & we're all playing it we just don't know it..It's what coolbreeze says it's about becoming fully conscious, & aware of our true self..& it's exactly how lonestar says it is, we have to all learn to reduce hopefully eradicate man's ego..He's right what he says about the world being at critical mass, & the way i see it is it can go one way or the other..The people in the world can finally wake up to what their governments/big businesses have done, & are still doing to them..Or the governments/big businesses will get full control of it's people, & the game will be lost to the collective ego..I'm pretty sure that the people are gonna lose as their far to weak to be bothered now, but i reckon it's all part of the game & will just keep getting worse..Anyone with any sense can see the world is "always" getting worse, just ask any older person if it was better in their day, & most will always say yes..Just look at history & the same patterns repeat themselves, because times might change but people don't change..I do know what i have to do while I'm here, & that's to work on all the things i don't like about my inner self..Once Iv'e sorted that out, then I'm off to help others..Iv'e actually meditated on your question for nearly a year now, & that's the most obvious one i can come up with..So just out of curiosity is there something you don't like about your inner self?, just to see if my theory holds any water!lol..If it's something about your appearance/feelings or emotions you didn't like, that would still be your inner self..Just a yes or no would be helpful, I'm a yes & everyone Iv'e asked so far has been a yes also, so that's why it's a theory of mine at the moment.

The human life span changes in the Bible - Why?The human life span changes in the Bible from almost 1,000 years (Noah died at the age of 950 or 350 years after the flood) to 120 years for Moses. Is this fact or fiction? And if true why does our human life span change so dramatically?

What do you think has led to such a careless regard for human life?I recently wrote a hub about what we tell our children about death and dying, and in that hub mentioned that just over 100 years ago, death wasn't nearly as mysterious or scary as it is now, because most children experienced the...

It is a fundamental subject for human life. We need to know: i) Who is the Creator? ii) Which path is selected from the Creator and that we need to follow? & iii) Who is our Prophet (Selected from the Creator)?
