   I think you're asking, if I'm not mistaken, why are there so many different interpretations of the Bible?   There are as many as there are opinions of what is being stated.  Worse, there are opinions about what parts of, say, the statements attributed to Jesus Christ are more relevant or more important than others.   
   
   The book itself is controversial.  Who wrote what? When? Where? and even Why?   The New Testament is around 2,000 years old, the Old Testament goes back to 'God knows when.'   The Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, were written decades after Jesus died.   Then later these were tampered with and had lots of passages edited out so that the then real power in the Western World, the Roman Catholic Church, could have that 'word of God' interpreted the way they wanted it to be.
   
   Of course, the proverbial apple cart was overturned in the 1950's when the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and found to be genuine.  "Oh, no!"  But "Oh, yes."  Another version of JC's life had come to into our world, the Gospel of Saint Thomas..
   
   One of the problems of the Bible is that it contains so much, so many quotes that counteract or refute other parts of it that you can have an ongoing argument for years just quoting chapter and verse to one another to get a bit of temporary 'one upmanship.'
   
   My advice.   Get from it what you interpret is there for you.   You're heart will tell you what is right or wrong as far as your life is concerned.   Oh, and don't be afraid to look at the teachings of other religions.   Christianity doesn't have a monopoly on the truth any more than any of the others.

   Truth is not physical. The language of Truth is spiritual. All of man's languages are based on physical things, not spiritual.
   
   Thus, a literal interpretation of the Bible misses the spiritual message buried underneath the superficial words. When people view the Bible from the viewpoint of the physical body or physical Ego, they are missing Truth.
   
   Because Ego loves to be right, Ego will cling to it's own ideas, blinding self to any progress toward Truth. Thus, we have hundreds of denominations fracturing the church. We've had emperors pervert the church with their political ambitions, destroying its connection to the spiritual. We have lies perpetuated that the "Age of Miracles" died long, long ago, but I have seen miracles throughout my life that confound the laws of physical reality.
   
   If you view the Bible from a spiritual perspective, you can see answers to your deepest questions. You can see the mechanics of creation. You can see a timeline compatible with those of mainstream science. And most importantly, you can see the details of the rescue manual with its instructions to return to the spiritual world, even while your body remains in the physical -- living in the world, but not being of the world.
