The religion I adhere to is very much about mind your own business unless it concerns you - that's kind of its Golden Rule. I have done my mission work by instilling this rule into my children from a young age, so that they grow up adhering to the rule of the one "true" religion ;) Obviously, it will be my religion since I am in the position of authority and I can never be wrong.
To do any less than force my children to adhere to my religion would not make me hypocritical enough - so I am sure to tell them every day that they must obey my rule without question. After all - our religion demands it.
It wasn't always this way of course. I was raised in the Catholic church, where I do not remember even once discussing anyone's sexuality, because despite being religious, my own family had the good grace to understand that other peoples bedrooms were not their concern.
I think religion is a pretty wrapping paper people use to justify hate for people they don't understand - been doing it since the beginning of time, but same people rarely follow ALL the rules of those holy books they claim as the written word of God. I guess it's because God is a little moody throughout the various chapters and can't seem to make up his mind. Own slaves, slavery is wrong. Women are property, many wives, don't cheat on your wife - sacrifice your child - wait, no stop don't do that..
That God was too confusing for my feeble mind so I made up my own religion - it's called "live and let live" or something like that. That other God just became too toxic in my life and I had to let go and surround myself with more like minds ;).
