If God has given the ability to believe to only a few out of the billions, then God is not loving. You believe you are one of the few chosen, so you have no problem with it. Call me blind or whatever you like, but how can he be loving?
Robert, I mentioned this to you in another response a minute ago but I'll reiterate here too. I suggest that you read two of my hubs that address these issues: "Divine Election of the Saints" and "Golden Chain of Salvation." Read them in that order.
I think these two comments lay out the mystery very well.
As I said in my other comment, Chris...I am all too well familiar with Calvinism. The system makes your god a monster. No thanks.
Amen Chris! RTB: He's waiting for "YOU!" But "His Hand is still stretched out." (Isaiah) He doesn't "make" anyone! When you "truly" come, He is waiting then you will experience His Love! "And His Hand is still stretched out!"
