Many have predicted the end of times and their predictions did not come true.  What about now?

The only way to validate predictions is to wait and watch if they happen or not. I don't think we humans have achieved that level of enlightenment yet that smile
We don't yet know when time started, why time only travels forward, and why at a constant speed. The mystery of time is too vast and complicated for human minds. So we aren't exactly qualified to predict the end of time. Who knows where the human race may end up after a century or more, we may be on earth, or a different planet, on a space station even.

No one knows the date and time that the world as we know it will end.  Only God.  I would say that we've got about 200 or so years before Jesus comes back.

Jesus Christ said that only his Heavenly Father knows that time.  Our job is to be ready whenever Christ returns.  Let him find us always keeping the commandments his Father taught him to teach us.

Unless you see a giant meteor speeding towards earth in your telescope, I doubt anyone will ever be able to accurately determine the end of the world, especially if there is anything religious about it.

Nobody can predict the future or the end of the world, not even people who think they can..All they could ever say is if we carry on like we are doing, then we may be fubared..We can only ever say may, because it hasn't happened yet as far as i know..Also how many times does it have to be disproved, before people start getting the picture..If someone said to me the worlds gonna end next year, I'd say well prove that statement to me with facts & logic..Which of course they can't, because the evidence doesn't exist yet as it hasn't happened yet. :-)

I tend to agree with you, only troubled by the commandment to "be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth."  Genesis 1:28 (as told to Adam and Eve) and Genesis 9:1 (as told to Noah and his sons.)

Yes i agree with you Paerspy & we're all breaking that commandment, because we're not individually living off the land & replenishing it..Do what you can, & eat fresh good food..Even better grow your own own veg/fruit, the lord will know

Could you be more specific with your question "what about now?" Here's my take on the end of the world:

Humanity itself authors its own destiny. The end-of-the-world predictions didn't come true because humanity willed them not to and worked to enlighten itself. Sounds fantastic in light of all the dissension and wars going on in the Middle East, but we will always have these troublemakers with us unless they wipe themselves out.

Look at how we as enlightened humans have rallied to aid our fellow man after the Tsumami, Haiti, and other natural disasters. Look at how we send aid to countries in their times of need when these countries actually hate us. The average man wonders why we do this, but the enlightened know that it is done out of love. Even the Bible mentions something about praying for those who despitefully use you (or something like that, I'm not a Biblical scholar).

I believe the world will end when we will it to end, therefore the end of the world cannot be predicted because man's will is unpredictable.
