Matthew 1:18-25 adds the announcement to Joseph, to the account of the announcement to Mary.

As i recall he did not give his name. Another difference was that Mary and Joseph were not yet married, but Samson's parents were. There could also well have been a difference in spirituality between the two sets of future parents. Other thoughts?
Samson clearly did not show signs of spiritual magnificence early on. I would have given the parents a bit more just to let them put up with it. But they asked repeatedly how to handle the youth and got nothing from ????? Great nuances here.
