I have a friend who is a Hebrew language scholar. He says the wording and grammar of Genesis can ONLY mean a literal, six day creation. Since evolution is a documented fact, this is another proof that the Bible story of "creation" is false.
Exactly scarebear! 2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
It's obvious that you two are not familiar with or do not care what the Hebrew text says. Genesis 1&2 are not compatible with evolution.
RtB, and apparently you're not aware that the Pentateuch (1st 5 bks) was written by Kabbalists in CODE! So, even your Hebrew scholar might likely not know what they're talking about. So, NOTHING can be taken literally.
Lonestar, unless you can provide solid proof of your code theory, then I'm afraid it's no more plausible than any other.
Well said! I am a Christian and believe the earth rotates around the sun and that evolution is at work. I'm just not a Christian who reads the Bible like it is a science text book (which it is not.)
