Yes I agree , but it seems like a lot of people find it necessary to get married in a church, I think though that people can be way more judge mental than God.Good point about Adam and Eve.
sorry for the typo. I am glad that you agree
Word: Do you believe "What God has joined together?" or do u believe whoever "joins themselves together" is marriage in the sight of God?
So who is the "true" God? Every religion has a different name (even all of the different offshoots of Christianity have a different name for him), also if marriage is something that comes from "god" why is it so tied in politics?

Peach: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Although Catholicism has misled many, at least they believe in God! Matt 10:33! See my response under "Was Christ Tolerant of other religions or did he teach that there was only one true religion?"
I agree I think that it's fine for those who go to church but God also knows the ones that don't still can be good people
Dash: Jesus' first miracle was at a "wedding" so Jesus approves! Now church bldg is another subject! Can't find that in Script! Yes, you've been told rt "God knew "slaves hearts!" I Sam 16:7. If God joined together, honoring vows no problem!
thank you glad that people are understanding about it.
thank you for opinion.
Deb:That's the way God intended marriage, but most don't remain "pure" today! There were "weddings" in Scripture for that's where Jesus' performed His first miracle! In Script, we should remain celibate until marriage, not "copulating!" Fornication!
I would have to ask wouldn't God know whats in the hearts of those that truly are in love and express it before marriage? I believe there are many that loved each other a lifetime kept their vows til death, that may have not waited.
Norine, my statement went right over your head and under your feet and around the room. Please read it again.
Fee: Do you believe if we "join ourselves together" vs what Scripture says "What God has joined together let no one put asunder" that is marriage in sight of God?
Norine, what I am saying is human beings have a "sin nature." As an example, most Christians are so sinful, they only barely follow "What is Written."
feenix, Amen! Most Christians "cherry pick" the scriptures they're willing to follow. Ecclesiastes 7:20 confirms this:"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." Every Saint has a past and every Sinner has a future
@dash, so what do the verses Mathew 2: 14-17 mean to you.
Debra, Essentially that verse is saying: Actions speak louder than words. What feenix and I are saying is there are lots of (so called) Christians who don't walk the talk! Do you disagree with that assertion? To some degree we're all hypocrites.
@dash, I wrote my last hub on that very thing and most did not pass the test. Plus I use verses that speak of what Jesus spoke, and I always prefer what he siad than what John says. Not all of us are sinners and that was what Jesus said.
@Lady: Your "test" was ludicrous. Also, the bible makes it very clear that ALL are sinners.
Star: The point of marriage is to "Be fruitful and multiply." (Gen 1:28) Yes, you need God's approval for Scripture says "What God has joined together" and that we should make sure of otherwise the divorce rate will continue to rise!
Norine, Some people can't have children. Are you saying God would tell them it's "pointless" for them to get married. In other instances divorced people in their 40s, 50s, or beyond choose to remarry. Marriage not just about having children.
