Mostly, I meditate with meditation music or mantras being played on an audio CD in the background. I find Gayatri mantra and Om mantra very good accompaniment for my meditation. But I also find other mantras equally good.
I sometimes do meditation by focusing attention on the movements of my breath. I do so also when I don't have accompaniment of background music, especially when I am out of station.
As a matter of fact, all these kinds of meditation have wonderful effects on the meditator.
