   Why do people think that heaven or the kingdom of God is in the sky?

   Well, it cannot be within the earth.  So, it has to be outside the earth.  As to where you want to go from there -- outside our gravitational pull, in another galaxy?  I don't know.  Also, I'm pretty poor with scripture.  Just using common sense and what faith I can muster.

      This is true... God is 'spirit' so this physical stuff isn't where he exists. God can ONLY exist 'within us' which also encompasses everything 'around us'. Its a fun concept to think about. Jesus 'christos' was within - as is ours. It is our battery.

   The Kingdom of God was veiled to those who expected a great spectacle. Christ was a representative of the Kingdom, but they did not recognize it because of his humble demeanour.  Although, Yahshua addressed his words to unbelieving Jews ("the Kingdom of God is within you"), they are words of possibility, but required an internal and spiritual manifestation to "see" the Kingdom in a spiritual sense. The spiritual Kingdom of God is about Yahweh's rule through Christ in the hearts of every believer. There are several parables that Yahshua told to help the seeker of truth to understand the meaning of the Kingdom.
   
   In the age to come, the literal physical kingdom will come in a the manifestation of might and power in a kingdom government. Yahshua was used by God to inaugurate the New Covenant on earth without the activation of the visible theocracy yet. The Pharisees did not understand this, as the visible Kingdom of God would be an event in the future where there will be a theocracy of God on earth, but the spiritual activation was to come first through Christ.

   What foolishness we aspire to create. Everyone and every heaven is within us. I live on heaven on earth. Because I am loved from above and across the world. What could be more heavenly than to be loved? Perhaps to be given the gift of loving others? Why in the heck would love stop upon death as it is spiritual and not man caused. Let those bargain their soul to create a heaven hereafter. I do not buy it. Heaven is within your heart. Death is in your soul. Choose love for tomorrow may be too late. Has anyone ever felt as good about riches as they have about love? I do not buy it if they say so.
   Heaven is not only here. it is a choice. I choose heaven by choosing to love others and it surely has come to me before my death. Thank the Lord.

      Girl, 1 has to "activate" the spirit GOD placed in us by BELIEVING on HIS SPIRIT and is not EVERYONE!
      Until u stop confusing the spirit in us as HIS SPIRIT which   BELIEVERS have acquired resulting in "connection" to HIM u will remain "confused!"

   Misfit: Do you believe Jesus is GOD who "manifested HIMSELF in the flesh" as Jesus (I Timothy 3:16)?  Do you believe HE died and returned to the SAME SPIRIT (I Corinthians 12) from whence HE came (John 17:5)?  Did GOD not say in Isaiah 43:11 "There is no other GOD besides Me?"  If so, why would HE leave us ("believers") with "no help" which HE promised in John 14:26;16:13 or don't you "believe" that either?
   
   Why do you guys not READ the entire Chapter of Luke 17 to get a "complete understanding?"  Did not Scripture say In v17 "But FIRST must he "suffer" many things...?"  Didn't HE "suffer many things" when HE went to the cross?  Thereafter, HE sent the Holy Spirit (KoG) on the Day of Pentecost to "HELP" us as "Promised!" 
   
   Scripture says time and again "sin is death!"  If the KoG is within everyone and we are sinners or unbelievers, how could we have the KoG in us?  Did not Ephesians 2:1 say "We were DEAD in our trespasses and sins?"  Didn't John 3:7 say "We must be born again?" Then why would anyone think the KoG is in ALL; especially sinners and unbelievers?  Just because we ALL have "a spirit," you can thank Adam and Eve for man not having "THE SPIRIT" and because of Adam we MUST "reconcile" to HIM by obeying HIS command which was given in Acts 1:4 - "WAIT!"

      Charlie's right!  "As HE is so are we IN THIS WORLD" (I Jn 4:17) if one has "activated" the KoG inside by BELIEVING, OBEYING & "WAITING" for HIM (Acts 1:4)!

      Eric is a "self made" Christian as MOST!  He won't STUDY or LISTEN to the WORD of GOD to become a Spiritual LEAD "Disciple" but continues to rely on "his" knowledge!

   Those words that Jesus uttered are different from the revelation he showed apostle John. Here Jesus was telling them the kingdom of God has come and is in your heart. Now he meant the fulfillment of prophecy in the old testament has come into fruition. Jesus brought the kingdom of God near to us. This is the reason why when Jesus died on the cross the veil of the temple was broken into two. It means now people are free to go in the presence of God without going through the priest. Secondly when Jesus resurrected it meant when a person acceps Jesus as their Lord and savior of their livres then the kingdom of God becomes alive in their hearts. Everyone of us has kingdom of God inside us but it is no longer alive because of sin. When we are sanctified (our spirits) it becomes alive and we are able to communicate freely with God. This is why the Bible says the kingdom of God is on earth. It means  Jesus brought the kingdom of God near to us. We cannot complain it is far away. We who are Born again are the kingdom of God i.e the church is the kingdom of God simply because God resides in our hearts.
   Still there is the physical dwelling of God and the angels which is heaven. After  Jesus had resurrected and appeared to people he ascended to heaven. When he ascended where did he go? Elijah and Enoch of the old testament never died. Where did they go? The vision John saw of the heaven does not imply our hearts and the earth e.g the throne of God. Now which heaven is he talking about because it cannot be our hearts? In fact it says Jesus will descend with an army of angel. Where are they descending from if not from heaven? Lastly those who are dead and are counted righteous will be raised from death and wull meet Jesus on air. Where will they go?
   We have two heavens, the literal one and the figurative. The literal is heaven above the skies, the figurative is heven in our hearts because God dwells in us i.e the Spirit of God.

      We have 'a spirit' w/in us but not THE SPIRIT until "born again" as disciples on Day of Pentecost(Acts2:2)! Lk17:25 says "He must suffer first" (The Cross) & send (Jn14:26)! Now we "WAIT"(Acts1:4) then HE can talk to us(Acts1:2) & Jer31:33-35
