Why do you believe that your God needs worshipping?

If a God is truely a God, then a God alreadly knows these things about it. All the singing, prayers, and false promises mean nothing. I believe that when you take care of our fellow man that is worshipping.

I don't. I believe God does not need, people need.
Religion is suppose to be about the needs of the people, prayers are about the needs of people to feel connected to something greater than themselves.

God doesn't need to be bowed down to, or worshipped, God does not need. God doesn't have EGO issues, God already is complete. A relationship with God is a gift from a being that gets nothing in return, because we can't give God anything God didn't already have...

I agree taking care of the needs of people is what religion is suppose to be about.

For me- instead of saying 'why do I?', I say 'Why not?' I believe God has given me so much. He has create some amazing things. For me worship is about celebrating that. Celebrating the family I have in HIM. It is not a I have to do this- it is a I can't stop myself.
You worship to celebrate, you pray to learn and grow. There is plenty out there for me to learn. I need my Teacher to Teach me. I need my Father to guide me. I love Him and I want to show it. Not because HE needs to know but because it is exciting. It is something to be proud of. It is a relationship to grow in and just like I want the world to know how much my husband and daughter mean to me- I want them to know how much God means to me. We have a tendancy to box up worship into a neat Sunday package. That is not worship. Most go out of a sense of duty. But I will not wait for Sunday to say 'Look what the Lord did!' or to say 'Lord, I DON'T GET IT! EXPLAIN! SHOW ME!' (Sometimes I wish I would stop saying the second one.) If you believe something is great you celebrate it. And if you do not agree with the nut sitting next to you- let them have thier celebration while you go and celebrate the great things in your life.
I worship because I fully believe GOD deserves it. Not because he needs it.

To worship God is to let him know that we place all our faith and trust in him and that we are thankful for all he does for us.  God is the creator and the finisher of the universe and everything that we have and is in this world belongs to God and had it not been for him we would not be here nor would this world be here.  I praise God for His son Jesus Christ that died on the cross for my sins.

God doesn't need anything from us, we need everything from Him. When we  worship Him we are showing our love. I can worship Him by loving animals, loving other people, and being a good person. Its not all about prayer and song. When I show my love for animals I am showing my love for His beautiful creations and by loving them I respect them... I am not in some lab growing ears on um! And by loving other people, even if and when they don't deserve it, I am giving Him praise for I am acting above my flesh and loving them as He does.

Also, when I pray, I speak with God like He's my best friend, my family, my own wordly father. That prayer is most from the heart and most loved by God (imo).

I don't worship God because He needs it, I worship God because I need it and I love it as He loves it as well.
