why is it so hard for people to believe in themselves?

As opposed to a higher power to give their life meaning and purpose.

    My Dear Sweet Friends,

For Christians, we hath been trained to believe in the person Jesus, and not taught what he actually taught, which is pretty much believing in one's self, the divinity of the individual.  Instead, we lookest at the divinity of Jesus without understanding what he was about, what he taught.

And, even more, most people worship false gods such as money and the things money buy.  This causeth people to believe in those man made things and in their ability to acquire them.

Two false beliefs art so powerful that most of the world refuse to search within themselves to find the Truth of all creation.  Belief that ONLY Jesus mayest join in Holy Union with the Father, and the many false gods that rule their lives.

My God doesn't want me to believe in myself. He wants me to believe in Him. I could write a book about the trials of my life, trials He lets me go through to strengthen my relationship with Him. I know I can't do it all on my own. If you ever read my hubs, you will understand, and that is just the beginning of what I am going through and have gone through. Only my God can make me well and help me become the person I want and need to be. I fail when I try to take back control of my life. Yet, my Father has never left me alone to suffer. His timing may be different than mine and I may not always understand His purpose for me, but, I have seen the miracles in my life when I seek Him. All things are possible with my God.

People do believe in themselves and there in lies the problem. Mankind has been born with a sin nature and even if we do right sometimes or even most of the time sooner or later we're going to demonstrate that the sin nature.

Take popular people for example, well-known actors, athletes and their rise to stardom people are telling them things they like to hear and eventually they begin believing these things and behaving in such a way that they start to believe they truly are privileged and should not have to obey the laws that everyone else does I believe there are a number of celebrities who have illustrated this.

My thoughts are life has meaning or purpose.  Everyone exists for a reason, some may feel that the reasons are grand other may not think they are so grand.  I exist to help my fellow person.  They may need help in many ways, getting food, water, shelter, a ride, etc.  I like helping people so life always has purpose and meaning fo me.  Believing in God or not that is not the issue.
Some people need to believe that they only have a purpose because God is their source of inspiration and that is great as well.

The truth of the matter is there are 7.2 billion people on this planet and everyone needs some on else.  Yes, believe in yourself, but recognize that no great accomplishment is done alone.

    Best wishes
