We have a Body and a Soul. The Mind is the connection between the Brain (Body) and the Soul (spirit). The Heart is only a blood-pumping organ, emotions like love, hate, revenge, egoistic feelings, benevolent actions all start in the brain though we seem to feel things in our heart as it beats stronger and faster in our chest. The brain functions on the basis of one's character, depending on how one is born, bred, raised and educated.
Our thoughts (our mind) are mirrored and reflected in our souls. The Mind is proof of our existence - of our Soul. According to the French philosopher DeCartes, "cogito, ergo sum" - "if I think I am". Our thoughts beautify or stain our soul, we pray with our minds and we can sin in our minds too.
This shows the importance of harbouring positive, loving and altruistic thoughts in our minds and emphasises the need to strive to raise our children to be good, law-abiding and helpful citizens. We ARE what we think so In this matter 'thought' is King.
