Which religions will be affected if 2012 isn't the beginning of the End?

In my opinion, December 21, 2012 isn't going to be the end of the world. I do believe that there will be a significant change of events (whatever they may be) that will lead to a different way of thinking.

But if nothing happens, isn't there going to be a profound affect on certain religions that believed this was to be the 'End of Days'? What type of effect will there be if this day - this event that happens every 26,000 - is merely another day?

Which religions would be affected would depend on which religious texts specifically mention the year of 2012.  Otherwise, people are just speculating about the "End of Days" as you put it.  I'm only familiar with a few handfulls of religions so, I'm not sure.  So far, I've only heard of the Mayans and Nostradamus write about 2012, while others are just assuming that 2010 is the "End of Days."

Fact is, 2012 is not the END. It is actually a BEGINNING smile

We've noticed 9/11, 2001 the rise of Anti-Christ ... Why i name it? Because in U.S Seal Bill clearly written Novus Ordus Seclorum
New Order of Century, and Bible revealed it, Quran Revealed it
Christianity, Islam both had revlealations about 9/11
and now move on, since 2001 and today, there is more deaths, killings, mass killings, holocaust, climate effects and world is just shattered, shattering into pieces, Sinkholes, floods, quakes, volcanoes, war everywhere...
We are in the witnessing era of this earth. We are luck we' gonna witness something really serious. I believe its arrival time, soon we will witness arrival.
regarding affects of this year ... obviously Christianity and Islam
I write it because, Athiesm, Judaism has no worries about the world's happenings and disgracefulness, Blasphemous of God. But only 2 communities seriously believe in God i.e Islam and Christianity.
and both have a lot of revelations regarding this kind of happenings, Black clouds, quakes, mass killings, world war and etc like Nomstradmous revealed in later century. (But, to clear. Noms copied all the revelations of Hadith of Muhammad)

No country is left alone by climate effect, no place is left alone by killings... I believe within 2 years a big war is going to start against, U.S, ISRAEL, INDIA, Pakistan, Iran and NATO and other countries! obviously world war!!!
it already started , but one2one is yet to come...

Great answer! It's a scary, yet exciting, time. I think there was something in Revelations about a third of the sea turning black?

    -- creepy.

There are many prophecies to be fulfilled before you can
look for the second coming of Christ.
No one knows the day nor th hour. But knowledge is
given to certain spirits to know what must come to pass
    before He returns.
As it is written:'not one jot shall pass from the law ,
    UNTIL ALL IS FULFILLED.
And there is a lot of trail and tribulation that awaits humankind.

I agree with the original post - It's not the "End of Days", just the end of the current Age of Mankind according to the Mayan Calendar's "long cycle". The next cycle (or Age) starts right after. Just because they didn't "publish" the next calendar, doesn't mean that time stops (or the "world is over"). Their civilization just didn't stick around long enough to do the next "printing". See our Article featuring "The SEVEN AGES" ( http://hubpages.com/hub/7-Minutes-to-Mi … -DIRECTORY ), and look at the last two Ages as an example.

Whether this actually means something significant for our current world civilization is another topic. Many people agree that we are on the cusp of a great transition in the world. I feel that this is simply Biblical Prophecy unfolding before our eyes, but NOT quite the "End Times" yet. We are just at the dawn of a blessed NEW ERA. Whether it happens exactly on 2012 is another matter, but we are close, none-the-less.

Those "other" religions/people that think this is "The End" will most definitely be thrown into a tail spin. Many people have falsely predicted such events before, to their own detriment. From a Biblical standpoint, we cannot assign a "physical date" to this ("no man knows the day"- Mat 24:42; ), we can only watch for the signs and just "be ready" at any point, whenever that might be.

Many people believe that just because the fact that the universe is coming into an alignment or "conjunction" at this time, that it may have both physical and cosmological effects as well, which may also be true. But an "End to the World" is a far stretch. So don't go out and sell off everything you own or join some crazy "suicide cult" either (like others have done in the past), just be "calmly" prepared for any outcome.
