   Do you feel that denominations in Christianity has hindered the work of Christ in the earth?
   
   Do you feel that denominational belief differences have caused a severe attack and hinderance in the work that Jesus Christ had commissioned the body of believers to carry out?

   Yes & no. I believe that arguments within the church are never good but I also think that they help advance the way we worship and view god. i don't know if this will make sense but i think that it has its negatives and positives... mostly negatives though.

   well there are so many interpretation of the Bible and that is why doctrines differ so much. Which The Bible is so literal about somethings and so sybolic about other things, so that leaves alot open for debate, it think.  So a hinderance? maybe. but it is necessary I think because If we don't question such things and blindly follow, we will not learn and grow.

   Thanks revortay1 for your input. I see that the "walls" of denominations have caused us to lose focus on the weightier things, and have caused us to focus on the petty things, such as, let's say...Holiness standards as an example. I do see that in some way, it does challenge us to 'rethink' the ink, so to speak...

   Yes, I believe they really have. Basically, the Bible gives a few basic commandments for us to follow, then gives us examples, encouragement, and food for thought in following those commandments. Individual denominations tend to get so wrapped up in traditions that they eventually cease to differentiate that from the whole purpose of the church's existence. Throughout my life I have been told I'm going to hell because I'm not Lutheran, told that certain people weren't welcome in a Pentecostal church because they previously went to a Mormon church, seen people ridiculed for their ways of prayer or style of worship, and then been told that I'm an unrepentant sinner simply because I don't claim any of these numerous denominations. What does it matter how we follow those commandments, as long as we still do? Frankly, I have never once seen anything good come out of denominational divisions. It occurs to me that the Bible mentions that "A house divided against itself will fall"...this goes for the church too.

   As far as I personally am concerned, "ABSOLUTELY NO" My duty as a "CHRISTIAN"  is to baptize and spread the Gospels of God through His Holy Bible to anyone who seeks to know God and Jesus. I could care less about anything any church denomination wishes to spew out as "Its Doctorine" if it does not Jive with what is taught in God's Holy Bible, then it's not of God.

   The church has been an evolution of revelation. The catholics started the ball rolling, Luther exposed many of their false doctrines hence seperation from the catholic church. The baptists don't believe in speaking in tongues, or prophesy as the pentecostals do.
   
   As god reveals his Word and reveals accordingly so must new branches of belief arise. Many new churches are opting out of the familiar denominational name tags.
   
   I wouldn't be surprised to see churches in the future not preaching satan or hell and this would please me greatly.
   
   As god has asked each person to discover that church where god would have them planted, and be faithful there and learn and edify and mature. God will work all the rest out to his glory and honor. The church has had a role to fulfill and has done well inspite of mans fleshly attempts to dominate and rule it and bad press from the unsaved without understanding.
   
   We only know of what we experience. Churches around the world are completely different that the apathetic and laodecian type churches we get in "fat cat" north america. We think we are elite but we are not. Typically churches that are persecuted and oppressed have followers of such faith and dedication that would put 90% of north american believers to shame.

   At the times when the church lost its original love for Christ then yes it hindered His Work and became self centred churchy religious which needed worldly power to survive as an institute persecuting those who didn't fit its system. At the times when the church owned that first love and were consumed by it, nothing was in the way for Christ to be made manifest through the church.
