A superior being in which some cultures believe has made up the universe and everything that inhabits it. Other cultures believe in multiple gods in which they are not "all powerful", but are immortal.
Christianity believes in one god, but for example the Egyptians believed in many.
Most of them time god refers to a superior being that has created everything and influences everything. Multiple gods are a bit different though and are not in said to be in charge of everything.
Really it depends on the individual and what they "define" god as....
Most I think believe in "one" superior though"...
God is a Celestial Spirit. We were created in His likness, which is one of our 2 bodies of existence.I am one that was call by Him to present that very existence. You can read more about it in my hub...Divine and Unknown.
it's a figment of some peoples imagination that they use for strength and to give them a sense of fullfilment.
GOD IS WHAT THE BRAIN MADE UP TO NOT FACE THE FACT ABOUT THE WORD "DEATH"
I am not ashamed to borrow someone else's answer. Of all answers to the question i(n the field of theology), "What is God?", I like Paul Tillich's anwer, "The ground of being." God is the ultimate reality upon which everything in the universe is created.
Examples and analogies:
1) If there is no 'ground,' we can't stand up.
2) God represents the universe itself, and God embraces everything inside the universe.
3) God is the totality of all things, and God's creations are found within this totality.
4) God is the reason that you and everyone else (myself included) can live in this universe.
Is God Jesus' daddy? Of course, yes, if you're a Christian. Did God reveal Himself to Mohammad (Peace be upon him)? Of course, yes, if you're a Muslim. Did God speak through various Jewish prophets as written in the Hebrew Bible? Of course yes, if you're a person of Jewish faith.
What is God
God is the creator who loves his creation, and if his creation is in ERROR he makes a plan how to correct their weakness
How does he do this?
God becomes a human and suffers as a human by humans so that God can take the error and die as the error. Doing this he is able to cover their error and never see it. This makes his creation perfect again in his eyes.
Who is God
Jesus Christ the only God who sacrificed himself for his creation, no other god could do this. Therefore he is God therefore he is worthy to be worshiped for his Grace and goodness.

Why can't God and evolution coexist?I am curious about the division between the concept of evolution and the religious mind... why can't God and evolution coexist? What are the rules that define the scientific process of evolution? Can those rules be applied towards religious belief?

Genesis Chapter 1 Verse 1 tells us an intersting story about the being mankind has come to call God. It says, "In the beginning God..." I've meditated on theat phrase for a long time asking not who this God was but what this God is. Many years ago I told a man of my village I...

If, as is suggested by astro-physicist, the universe had its beginning after the Big Bang,( with the exact nature of what initiated it still up for a lot of conjecture), the question needs to be asked: Did the the cascading events that emanated from the Big...

If you were God, what would be your main reason for putting the people on this earth? Is it mainly to worship you? Or to have you do good deeds so you can earn the right to enter his kingdom? Which of these 2 options is more important to you? Which of these two acts would you reward more if you...
